The Mastic Heat Shrinkable Sleeve 2-Layer System is specially created for field girth weld joints in gas and water networks, designed for corrosion protection. It is perfect to use in low-stress environments in moderate climates, making it ideal for water supply or gas distribution and transmission cables.
The first layer of the system includes a half-rigid mastic sealant with low preheat and middle shear strength. The second layer features an extruded radiation cross-linked heat shrinkable high density polyethylene backing with a TIP (Temperature Indicator Pattern). It is both compatible with standard pipe coatings and suitable for the protection of bare, replacement pipe sections and large radius bends.
The system is also designed to require minimum preheating, making it perfect to use for large diameter water pipes. Overall, it can be assembled and ready to use easily in the field.
